2. Timestamp and Edge - related Functions

One of the key features of the X20DS4389 is its integrated timestamp function. It enables the detection of fast input edges, like registration marks, independent of the X2X Link cycle time. With a resolution up to 125 ns, it can accurately timestamp these events. Additionally, the module can precisely generate edges down to the microsecond level, with up to four edges per unit. This precision is crucial for applications where exact timing of signals is required.

3. Oversampling and Other Functions

The X20DS4389 offers oversampling for both input and output signals. In oversampling mode, it can capture very short input patterns that are shorter than the X2X Link cycle time, with a scan rate of up to 25 μs. This is useful for detecting transient signals. The module can also output patterns with extremely short high/low times. Moreover, it has functions such as pulse duration and differential time measuring, and can store up to 4 events per edge detection unit in a buffer for later analysis.
